Anna Keay is a historian, writer and curator. She is currently Director of the Landmark Trust, and previously worked in senior curatorial roles for English Heritage and Historic Royal Palaces. She read History at Magdalen College, Oxford and her Ph.D. at Queen Mary, University of London was on ritual and power at the court of Charles II.
Her books include The Magnificent Monarch (2008); The Last Royal Rebel: the Life and Death of James Duke of Monmouth (2016) and The Restless Republic: Britain without a Crown (William Collins, 2022). Anna regularly presents on history and historic buildings on TV, mostly for Channel 4. She is a Trustee of the Royal Collection Trust, a Visiting Professor at Birmingham City University and received an OBE in 2019 for services to history and heritage.
